Created by Damon Lindelof, Jeffrey Lieber, and J. J. Abrams, the sci-fi adventure drama Lost has been hailed as one of the greatest TV hits of all time. Following a group of plane crash survivors on a mysterious island, the series captivated audiences over the course of six seasons and won numerous awards along the way, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series.

And it also suffered from what has plagued many greatest TV hits, a controversial finale, leaving fans disappointed and divisive of something that they have followed for years. The series creator Lindelof, however, didn’t take kindly to the criticism and defended the finale as he went on to proclaim that he would never work with the same actors again, something that he later realized was not a great commitment on his part.
Lost Creator Damon Lindelof Expressed Regret on Past Decisions
Following the success of Lost, Damon Lindelof continued his streak with hit shows like The Leftovers and the HBO limited series Watchmen. And in a conversation with Variety, the Emmy winner reflected on the valuable lesson he learned from working on these shows.

Highlighting his collaboration with Regina King on his consecutive shows, Lindelof acknowledged that his previous stance of not working with the same actors after Lost was misguided, labeling it as “stupid,” as he said, “Regina really proved me wrong on that one.”
And after breaking the self-imposed rule for the superhero TV show, Lindelof also expressed his wish to work with actors like Carrie Coon and Justin Theroux again in the future. “Now I’m going to break it all the time,” he shared.
“Because I’d get to work with Carrie Coon again, or Justin Theroux, or Ann Dowd, or Matthew Fox,” He further said. The actress also reflected on the mutual trust and respect between her and the showrunner that was established while working on The Leftovers.

“I believe because of our experience together on ‘The Leftovers,’ he trusted I would approach Angela Abar with the same care he and the writing team took while crafting ‘Watchmen,” she said. She also praised Lindelof for reciprocating mutual trust and respect, while emphasizing that it forms the foundation of their professional relationship.
Damon Lindelof Joins the Creative Team of Lanterns

The superhero series titled, Lanterns has been one of the projects under James Gunn’s DC reboot that the filmmaker announced after taking over as the co-CEO alongside Peter Safran.
