Hayden Christensen took over the role of Anakin Skywalker starting in the 2002 film Attack of the Clones and has reprised the role numerous times, including the Disney+ series where he encounters his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, in live-action. The dynamic between the two characters has been deeply explored during the events of The Clone Wars in the animated film and TV series.

Christensen, however, did not have the opportunity to fully examine that side of his character until the 2023 series. In a recent interview, the actor reflected on returning to the iconic role in the series, as he expressed his gratitude for the chance to delve into this aspect of Anakin’s character.
Hayden Christensen Reflected on Revisiting Anakin’s Relationship with Ahsoka
In a recent conversation with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, the Star Wars actor reflected on exploring his character Anakin Skywalker’s dynamic with his Padawan Ahsoka in the franchise. “It really was trying to honor the relationship that was so thoroughly developed in ‘The Clone Wars,” he said.

Talking about his character depiction in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, he said, “He’s always sort of very consumed by his own emotions and trying to figure out his own emotional state.” He explained that the series allowed him to tap into that side of the character that he couldn’t in the prequels.
For me it was very interesting because of the way it changes Anakin’s disposition … there’s a slightly different slant to the character because now he has a Padawan … and that was really interesting to explore and trying to present a slightly more wise.. a stillness I was able to explore that I wasn’t able to do in the prequels.

Hayden Christensen also shared that he fully immersed himself into this new dimension of his character by revisiting projects that explored his relationship with Ahsoka and the character arc such as The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
Reflecting on his return to the Star Wars universe, Christensen said, “It was really beautiful to see that side in live-action.” After witnessing the duo in the show, there is anticipation among fans for Ahsoka to once again share the screen with her former master in the upcoming season of the show.
Rosario Dawson On Hayden Christensen’s Potential Return in Ahsoka Season 2
Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker had been a significant part in the Disney+ series Ahsoka, starring Rosario Dawson in the titular role. With the show being renewed for another season, there has been anticipation for his return in the upcoming season as well.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress reflected on Christensen’s potential return to the show, saying, “I will just say that as she puts on that hologram of him, you see that there’s several of them. So I think there’s that potential.”

Dawson also shared that there is a possibility that the show could bring Anakin Skywalker back in the form of a “force ghost,” a concept that has previously been explored in the films. She further shared,
We’ve gotten to see from the films now into the show that he’s been able to become this force ghost that brings him back to Anakin, who at the end of the day, when he went and ascended to that space, that’s what he became.
The actress also highlighted how Anakin’s legacy is reflected through Ahsoka, as she expressed her hopes that the showrunner, Dave Filoni, would explore the relationship in the future. Ahsoka Season 2 does not have a certain release date.
Ahsoka is streaming on Disney+.
