John Cena has recently highlighted what sets him apart in the glamorous world of Hollywood while addressing his “following” on X (Twitter). It is not uncommon for celebrities to have specific preferences regarding social media.

One of the specific trends popular among the Hollywood elites is not following anyone on social media platforms, pursued by numerous names, such as Eminem, Zendaya, Jay Z, Megan Fox, and many others.
Cena, however, has refrained from such a practice, having followed more than 800,000 people on X (Twitter). While addressing the same in a recent interview, the Fast X actor stated that such exposure helps him maintain his curiosity.
John Cena’s Unique X (Twitter) Approach Sets Him Apart in Hollywood
John Cena, renowned for his dynamic presence both in WWE and on the big screen, is equally recognized for his active engagement on social media, frequently updating his fans and followers.

Unlike many other Hollywood stars, who have made it a preference to zero accounts on social media, Cena, boasting 14.3 million followers on X (Twitter), follows over 800,000 people on the platform.
In his recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, The Ricky Stanicky star explained the reason why he follows such a huge number of people on social media.
“The reason I want to follow everyone is because I want to hear from everyone,” he said, explaining that it allows him to gain diverse perspectives and opinions. He further shared,
You get everyone’s opinion, and through that you can develop your own opinions. I’ve got to be honest, there’s a lot of negativity on there. I want to be exposed to all that, even the toxicity.

The actor shared that he values staying curious and open-minded, describing it as essential for personal growth and maintaining his zest for life. While he embraces a broad following on Twitter, Cena aligns with the prevailing trend on Instagram, where he commands 20.7 million followers but follows none.
John Cena Reflected on His Different Approaches For Instagram and X (Twitter)
In a previous interview with Chris Van Vliet, John Cena reflected on his different approaches to Instagram and Twitter, revealing the reasons why he follows so many people on X (Twitter), but no one on Instagram.
The Peacemaker star said following no one on Instagram keeps the content he sees unfiltered and unbiased. “Instagram is an interpretive exercise,” he said before adding, “I don’t want to lead the witness by following anyone.”

However, as for X (Twitter), he argued that following 800,000 people facilitates him with a wide range of conversations and perspectives and helps him learn and grow. “Twitter is a conversation starter,” he said.
“Follow everyone because then people can engage,” he further said, expressing his preference for the broad range of perspectives on X (Twitter). He also suggested that it could be due to his experience performing in front of live audiences.
