Chuck Lorre’s hit sitcom starring Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer, Two and a Half Men featured several cameos throughout its long run, with one of the standout cameos being by pop star Miley Cyrus. The Grammy winner joined season 10 of the show as Missi, a family friend of Walden who briefly becomes Jake’s love interest.

The singer-actress earned her co-stars praise for her performance in the sitcom and also had a positive experience, so much so that she was open to returning to the sitcom. Unfortunately, her comeback did not fit with Chuck Lorre’s plans for her character.
Miley Cyrus Was Open to Returning to Two and a Half Men
Miley Cyrus‘ brief appearance in Two and a Half Men was warmly received by both the audience and the cast. Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer both praised the actress for her performance, sharing that they were surprised how she excelled in the role of Missi.

The Hannah Montana star was also very eager to join the show due to her family’s fondness for it. “This is the only kind of show that my whole family really likes,” she said in an interview before adding, “It’s fun to be here.”
Following her introduction in Episode 4 of Season 10, the talkative Missi returned in Episode 7, Avoid the Chinese Mustard, where Jake, having gone AWOL, confesses his feelings for her.
However, Missi reveals that she is not interested in a relationship, leading Jake to return to his duties with unresolved feelings. Addressing the potential to further explore the relationship between Jake and Missi, Cyrus expressed her wish to return to the show in the future.

So I think it’s a really fun episode, and it sets up, if I ever wanted to come back here again, it would just set it up so nice.
“I hope at some point I could come back and do this because it’s been a really good time,” she further told Entertainment Tonight, as per The Things. Despite her enthusiasm, Chuck Lorre decided to keep Missi’s appearances limited to just two episodes, and she did not return.
Jon Cryer Praised Miley Cyrus For Her Performance in the Hit Sitcom
Talking about Miley Cyrus’ performance in Two and a Half Men, Jon Cryer, who led the show alongside Ashton Kutcher and Angus T. Jones in Season 10, praised the singer for her impressive acting skills.

“She plays kind of a motormouth character so they gave her page-long monologues,” the actor said, as per ABC News, noting that he was initially unsure how she would perform extensive dialogues.
“Even when we got to within two hours of the show, she was still on book, and we were thinking ‘Uh oh, Miley better bring it,” he said. However, he was surprised when it came to filming, as she excelled in her performance.
Miley brought it. Miley was just on fire, did fantastic — Then I remembered that she was actually hatched in the Disney labs in Burbank and grown for just this sitcom situation. She was lovely, we had a great time.

Ashton Kutcher, who replaced Charlie Sheen in Season 9, also shared that he was surprised with how Cyrus owned the performance. “It might become two and a half and three-quarters of a woman,” he said in reference to the $160 million pop star’s performance in the show.
Two and a Half Men is available to stream on Prime Video.
