Armie Hammer recently took to his Instagram to share an update about his move back to Los Angeles. In the short video clip, the actor revealed that he would be selling the truck that he bought as a Christmas gift to himself in 2017.
Explaining the reason behind his decision, Hammer said,
Since being back in L.A., I have put about four or five hundred dollars worth of gas in it. And I can’t afford it. I can’t afford the gas anymore.
However, the actor revealed that he has opted for a more economical vehicle. “I got a new car,” he said before adding, “It’s tiny, It’s a hybrid. I’m probably gonna put about 10 bucks of gas in it a month.”
In the clip, he also reflected on the emotional value of the truck, recalling memories of bringing his children home from the hospital, camping trips, and cross-country road trips.
However, despite the sentimental value of the truck, the actor assured himself, saying, “That’s okay.” Hammer has reportedly been grappling with financial difficulties following several controversial accusations.
However, more than two years after his Hollywood career took a halt, an investigation into Hammer by the LA District Attorney resulted in no charges being filed due to insufficient evidence.

Armie Hammer’s career took a halt following the abuse and s*xual assault allegations. Soon after, several reports claimed that the J. Edgar actor had gone broke. However, in a recent interview, the actor opened up about his financial status.
In an appearance on Bill Maher’s Club Random Podcast, the actor addressed his being broke rumors. “I hear you’re broke now,” Maher asked the actor, to which he answered, “Yeah.”
However, despite that, the actor shared that such struggles have helped him get a broader perspective on life and that he’s “happier than ever.” He told the podcast host, “It was a brutal experience,” as he continued,
Someone might look at me and go, ‘Yeah, but financially you are in a very different position…’ And I look at that and I go, ‘Yeah, and you know what, it’s taught me is that I don’t need that because I’ve never been happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life.
He also reflected on how the experience has changed his lifestyle, as he has been sober and shared that he wouldn’t trade his current clear-headedness and overall happiness for anything.
