Charlie Sheen and Brad Pitt are some of the most recognizable names in Hollywood, both celebrated for their charisma and acting prowess. Before Pitt became one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, he worked various odd jobs, including driving a limousine for strippers. It was on the final night of this job that his path took an unexpected turn, setting him on the road to stardom.

Brad Pitt Reminisced About His Journey to Hollywood

Before making a name for himself as one of the most celebrated actors in Hollywood, Brad Pitt took on odd jobs, one of which also included being a stripper during his time at the University of Missouri.

However, it was his love for movies that he decided to leave his studies to move to Los Angeles. Reflecting on his move to Los Angeles, Pitt described it as a classic and exciting adventure.

He told photographer Karen Bystedt in a May 1989 interview, as per Paper Magazine,

I had $300 to my name. My car, a dented silver Datsun, which I named ‘Run Around Sue,’ was loaded up. I just remember saying, ‘Yeah!’ every time I would drive past a state line. I was so excited.

After moving to L.A., he took on odd jobs, from dressing up as a chicken to being a delivery boy for strippers. “I did anything that was flexible, so I could figure out how to get into this frickin business,” Pitt recalled.

He shared that upon learning that he would need headshots to break into the film industry, he took on extra work to afford them. It was during his extra job that he learned about an acting class that Charlie Sheen also attended.

While the Fight Club star took on several extra jobs, it was his stint as a limousine driver for strippers that ultimately led to an opportunity crucial for achieving his acting dreams.

After working for about two months as a limo driver, he found it too difficult to continue and decided to quit. And it was on his last night on the job, that he learned about an acting class from one of the strippers, who knew Charlie Sheen.

But then on the last night I drove, one of the new strippers told me about an acting class that her friend Charlie Sheen went to. I figured, if it’s good enough for Charlie, it’s good enough for me.

The acting class was led by the renowned Hollywood coach Roy London. As per Paper Magazine, a key moment in Pitt’s career occurred during this class when he met a girl who had an audition with the Triad Agency. She asked him to perform a scene for the agency, leading to him being signed.

In the late 1980s, Pitt began his career with minor, uncredited roles on television and in films, such as Growing Pains and Sheen’s No Man’s Land. He eventually gained fame with his role in Thelma & Louise and has since become one of the most prominent actors in the film industry.
