Angelina Jolie was clearly displeased with the jokes made about her and her brother James Haven following the 72nd Academy Awards. During her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jolie did not hesitate to express her objections to the comedian’s remarks.

“They really weren’t funny,” she said when the show host asked her if she was upset with the jokes he made regarding her and James Haven. The actress also expressed that the jokes were hurtful, particularly to her mother.
I’ve been waiting for this… Anybody here you know when somebody says stuff about your family we’re just, it’s just not okay. And my mom’s been just not okay about the stuff about me, my brother.
She then handed Leno a note of the jokes he made and asked Leno to read out loud some of the things he had said. However, after he read them and asked if they were terrible, the Changeling actress replied, saying,
They’re not terrible. I actually didn’t highlight the ones that were so, so terrible. I didn’t want my mom looking for them again.

Leno also tried to justify himself, saying, “I’m not the only one.” However, Jolie criticized him for conforming to the trend of making tasteless jokes about her and her family, rather than standing against such behavior. Leno also appeared flustered as Jolie firmly communicated her displeasure.
James Haven later addressed the kiss in an interview with the Daily Mail. “It was something simple and lovely,” he said explaining that his sister was about to leave for Mexico for work and the kiss was just a congratulatory gesture.
Despite the incident occurring two decades ago, it has remained a lasting topic of discussion in pop culture, with people still talking about it today.
