Jeremy Renner Reflects on the Unexpected Lessons From His Recovery
In a recent interview with Parents, actor Jeremy Renner discussed balancing parenting with everything else, especially after the snowplow accident. He shared how during the first six months of his recovery, his daughter took on the role of a caregiver.

The Marvel star shared that he found it both challenging and beautiful to experience the role reversal, highlighting how it forced his daughter to mature quickly.
I became the kid for the first six months; my daughter had to take care of me, and there was something quite beautiful in that role reversal. She had to grow up in a lot of ways.
Renner also shared how it allowed him to teach his daughter resilience by facing and overcoming obstacles together. “I overcame a lot of obstacles and got to show my daughter what resilience means by going through this journey with me,” he said.

Renner shares his 11-year-old daughter Ava Berlin Renner with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco and the Oscar-nominated actor has stated how his daughter is the most important person to him in life.
Her influence was a major source of motivation for him to recover from his near-fatal accident. Since then, the actor has regained his strength and enjoyed quality time with his daughter.
Jeremy Renner Credited His Daughter With Helping Him Recover
Following his critical snowplow accident, Jeremy Renner made a remarkable recovery and was walking within months, attributing much of his healing to his daughter, Ava Berlin Renner.
“Your hugs and your love, have healed me so incredibly fast,” he said, as per Today, wishing his daughter a happy 10th birthday on Instagram and later described her as the “reason number one” for his recovery.

Even his physician, Dr. Christopher Vincent, described Renner’s daughter as “one of his strongest motivators,” as per People. During his recent interview, The Avengers star also shared how his commitment to his daughter has become even more significant following the experience.
I really understand my place as her father. It is my duty to teach her how to love, how to be strong, how to overcome. Leading by example has always been important to me. That’s only amplified.
While he now finds it hard to be the “fun, goofy dad version” due to his physical struggles, Renner has noted that his deeper, more mature conversations with his 11-year-old daughter are equally valuable.
